Mark Sanders

Senior Pastor

Mark loves living in the Adelaide Hills and being an active part of the local community. He is passionate about the local church and its role to bring hope and healing to the wider community and world. Through his teaching ministry Mark loves helping people to know and follow Jesus passionately, personally and practically. In his spare time he enjoys relaxing at home with family, following and playing sport of various kinds, being outdoors, and catching up with friends. Mark's primary ministry focus is with the Aldgate AM congregation.

Kurt Mahlburg

Aldgate PM Pastor (Youth and Young Adults)

After completing high school, Kurt studied architecture but knew God's call to ministry from a young age. After a number of life-changing years living in Indonesia he returned to his home church, Hills Baptist, transitioning from youth leadership to his current role. He has also become a qualified Primary School Teacher, still relief teaching occasionally in nearby schools. Kurt loves sharing the unchanging truths of Jesus with young people in a way that makes sense of life and compels them to lifelong joyful discipleship. Among his other passions are surfing, riding, the outdoors, and enjoying life with family and friends.

David Shepherd

Littlehampton Campus Pastor

After completing his Bachelor of Medical Science, David continued to study, gaining a degree in Education. He spent the next 10 years of his life working as a high school teacher and itinerant youth communicator, before recently taking up a position at Hills Baptist Church. David is married to his wife Jo and together they have three gorgeous kids. David is passionate about communicating the life changing truth of the gospel in culturally relevant ways. David is an avid sportsman, who enjoys developing his personal fitness and mentoring others in this area.

Robin Carter

Littlehampton Campus Pastor

Robin started working with Hills Baptist in 2016. Robin has over 20 years ministry experience, plus 10 years working with Baptist World Aid raising awareness of God's heart for the poor. Robin has a deep love for our Lord, His people, the Gospel and God's Word. He longs to see people grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in a way that leads us to greater love and service towards each other, our local community and the wider world. Robin is married to Rebecca. They have six adult children and twelve grandchildren between them and enjoy spending time with family and friends.

Nat Mills

Aldgate AM Pastor

Husband of one, father of two, and pastor to a couple more, Nat is currently the Associate Pastor at Hills Baptist Aldgate's morning service, as well as full time student at Bible College of SA. Nat joined the pastoral team early in 2018 after four years in eldership. His passion for preaching the word, that Christ may be known, has been the governing factor in his life. After 11 years as a draftsman the desire bordering on necessity for preaching opportunities as well as deeper training took hold. Nat's greatest desire in life is that all may taste and see that the Lord is good.

Lauren Noack

Children's Ministry Worker - Aldgate Campus

Lauren is married to Ben and has three children. She is a primary school teacher with a Diploma of Theology. She has taught at Christian schools in Melbourne and Adelaide. Lauren hopes to encourage children to develop their own personal relationship with Jesus, see the Bible as an important way that God speaks to them, love belonging to the church family and build close relationships with others. Lauren loves to go on dates with her husband, exercise, read and spend time with family and friends.

Lauren Fleming

Children's Ministry Worker - Littlehampton Campus

Lauren is married to Ben and they have 3 children. She is most passionate that children have a strong desire for God and his Word. She believes that giving children a strong foundation in the Word equips them for difficult times. Lauren's background is in education support, disability work and missionary work with MAF in Arnhem land. Her common theme throughout her life has been working with people who in some way experience isolation. Lauren loves walking and exploring the beauty of the Adelaide Hills with her dog, op shopping, gardening, dabbling in watercolour art and going out for day trips with her family.

Judy Petering

Pastoral Care Worker - Aldgate AM

Judy began as pastoral care worker for the Aldgate morning congregation in April 2018. She has been married to John for over 40 years and they have two adult sons. John and Judy have been members at Hills Baptist (formerly Aldgate) for nearly 30 years and have themselves been recipients of care from this community of believers. This has given them a heart for caring for others who come to identify with Hills Baptist, and seeing them feel significant, cared about and cared for. Previously, Judy has been a teacher and a community aged care worker. Her leisure time activities include gardening, sewing, and reading.

Nikki Philipp

Pastoral Care Worker - Aldgate PM

The night service at Hills Baptist has been a significant place of growth for Nikki. It is a place where her faith has been nurtured and encouraged, so it's exciting to now have the opportunity to be in a role which assists in providing this for others. Nikki is passionate about caring for and listening to the heart of people, that the Church would be a place people feel welcomed, understood and can connect deeply with Jesus. It's at here at Hills Baptist that Nikki both met and married her wonderful husband Dennis. Together they have recently welcomed their first child. She enjoys quality time with her young family, drinking tea with friends and time outdoors.

Leona Stewart

Pastoral Care Worker - Littlehampton

Leona is passionate about people, different cultures, Jesus and His church. She has studied Photography, has a Diploma in Intercultural Studies and also spent some years living in different countries doing mission work. She developed a heart for those in need while caring for people with HIV/Aids and working with the poorest of the poor. Leona grew up in Germany, and now enjoys her life with her husband Josh, and their three children, in the Adelaide Hills. Her vision is that Hills Baptist is known to be a welcoming, unconditionally loving and caring place where people feel a sense of refuge and belonging.
